Who will save us?

This country will not be saved from her quagmire until we have leaders and not rulers with right-minded youths willing to save their land.
  I have thought and watched Nigeria political scene since I became conscious of my environment and haven't seen any change, not even the names of those dubious sit-tight rulers change but only the offices they hold changes. And I start to wonder if there are youths in Nigeria at all who loves freedom and liberty. We have only turned ourselves to puppets in the hands of this politicians to drive us psychologically and physically to achieving their aims all in the name of 'what shall we eat?'. It saddens my heart when I see Nigeria's youths posting pictures on social media while they club on weekends.I wonder how quickly we react to controversial issues surrounding our celebrities but show little or no interest at all when issues rise up among the rulers of this country which is indirectly affecting the life of every Nigerians. Why do we take fun more important than our future?
Nigeria will never change if we leave our hopes in the hands of these despicable politicians but only continue to lose her weals to their kleptomaniac fingers. We can't just sit down in our homes and expect anything to change. This is a country where the president can leave his people in adversity for ten days vacation in another country,these are the people we all expected change to come from. Mr President wouldn't be in UK on vacation if UK is in the same situation we find ourselves in this country. We need to correct the least errors in our homes, go out on the street and start making the changes for ourselves. None of this politicians have their child(ren) waiting for government employment after graduating from the best universities in the world. We are the one seeking for it so me must fight for it. Let us stop dreaming and being fooled by this politicians all in the name of religion and ethnicity. Religion nor ethnicity is not our problem but the selfish interests which we all nurse in our minds. The first modern political parties in Nigeria like NYM, NNDP, NCNC were formed and composed of majority youths like us. This were the youths who had less privilege than we do, they had little or no formal education, there was little or no political independence for them in those days,the mass media was restricted  and none of them had social media account through which their voice could be heard, yet they came together and fought for their ultimate independence. Then should we say the education we get these days is only to learn how to make use of social media?
We can't afford to live by the will of these rulers. We need to change our ways from 'politics of the belly' to politics of 'democracy and egalitarian'. We shouldn't be deprived of our rights. We have to disengage from selling our votes and conscience to the peanuts they share to us on the street. Surely you and I have no country to call ours than Nigeria so therefore this is a clarion call to all able bodied Nigeria youths to start having a change of conception about this country. We have too less a time to start, you can start by correcting the errors from your home, you can start changing the situation of Nigeria by educating your parent why they need to stop the least corrupt practices they engage in, you can start by standing up against a boss who scrupulously extort consumers.
Sola Owonibi puts in the poem, homeless not hopeless as thus ;
"We are part of your existence
Major fragment of the globe
As the day chameleon to night
You slump in the warmth of your beds
And the heat of loved ones
We also embrace the cozy
Cardboards laid on stinks
As the night inject us with cold breeze
And endurance
We sleep and dream"

If we are truly part of their existence, why not play our part actively, throw away the  "cardboard" we sleep on and fight for bed, how long shall we "endure" with this bad state and nightmare we regards as "dreams"?
I will end this article by making a clarion call in the words of P. O.C Umeh which goes thus;

"Ambassadors of poverty are
All of us whose in-actions
Steal our collective joy
Because of what we should do
Which we never do
As we bargain away
Our conscience in the market place
Under the weight of poverty
To assuage our hunger
And our master’s will"

God bless Nigeria!!!
